Description

Deliciously glazed chicken breasts coated with a sweet and tangy mustard glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs (parsley or thyme, optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). This ensures that the chicken cooks evenly and the glaze caramelizes nicely.
  2. Prepare the chicken: While the oven heats up, take your boneless, skinless chicken breasts and place them in a large mixing bowl. Pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture, which helps the glaze adhere better.
  3. Make the glaze: In a separate bowl, whisk together the Dijon mustard, honey, olive oil, and optional apple cider vinegar. Aim for a smooth consistency — it should be thick but pourable.
  4. Coat the chicken: Pour the glaze over the chicken breasts in the mixing bowl, ensuring each piece is thoroughly coated. Don’t forget to season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Arrange in a baking dish: Transfer the coated chicken breasts to a greased baking dish, leaving a little space between them.
  6. Bake the chicken: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes. You’ll know it’s done when the chicken is golden brown on the outside and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  7. Rest before serving: Once baked, remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring each bite is juicy.

Notes

  • This recipe works well with other chicken parts, such as thighs or drumsticks.
  • For a spicier kick, consider adding a pinch of cayenne pepper to the glaze.
