Description

Deliciously crispy chicken wings seasoned to perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds chicken wings (I use split party wings.)
  • 1/31/2 cup all-purpose flour (Use enough to fully coat the wings.)
  • 24 teaspoons brown sugar or brown sweetener
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika (Adjust to taste.)
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder (Adjust to taste.)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (Adjust to taste.)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder (Adjust to taste.)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • cooking oil spray (I use olive oil)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Pat the chicken dry and place it in a large bowl or plastic bag.
  3. Add all of the spices to the chicken. Rub the spices into the meat to ensure the chicken isn’t bland.
  4. Look for bald spots in the chicken, add more spices to fully coat the wings.
  5. Allow the chicken to rest for 10 minutes.
  6. Line a sheet pan with a baking rack or parchment paper and add the wings.
  7. Bake the wings for 20 minutes and then open and flip the wings. Spritz with cooking oil.
  8. Bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the chicken is crisp and cooked through (minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees).
  9. Pat the chicken dry again and place it in a large bowl or plastic bag.
  10. Add all of the spices to the chicken. Rub the spices into the meat again.
  11. Allow the chicken to rest for another 10 minutes.
  12. Place the chicken in the air fryer basket. Spritz with cooking oil.
  13. Air fry for 12-15 minutes on 400 degrees until one side of the chicken is crispy.
  14. Open the air fryer and flip the chicken. Spritz with cooking oil.
  15. Cook for an additional 5 minutes or until the chicken is crispy and cooked through (minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees).

Notes

  • Ensure the chicken wings are fully coated with spices to avoid bland chicken.
  • If there are any white spots from the flour, spritz them with oil.
  • A baking rack works best for crispy wings to allow airflow.
