Ingredients

  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 4 brioche buns
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1/4 cup pickles, sliced
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts in a bowl with buttermilk, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Let marinate for at least 1 hour.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix flour and cornstarch.
  3. Beat the egg in another bowl.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip in egg, then coat in flour again.
  6. Fry the chicken until golden brown and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes per side.
  7. Mix mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and hot sauce to create the sauce.
  8. Toast the brioche buns lightly.
  9. Assemble the sandwich by spreading sauce on the bun, adding lettuce, tomato, fried chicken, pickles, and the top bun.
  10. Serve immediately and enjoy!
