Description
A simple and delicious strawberry dump cake that’s easy to make and perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cans (21 ounces each) strawberry pie filling
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 box (15 ounces) yellow cake mix
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup sliced fresh strawberries, for topping (optional)
- Whipped cream, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Spread the strawberry pie filling evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish, making sure it reaches into the corners.
- In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with the granulated sugar and vanilla extract until smooth, creamy, and lump-free.
- Drop spoonfuls of the cheesecake mixture evenly over the strawberry pie filling, leaving a few gaps so the strawberries can bubble up as it bakes.
- Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the top of the strawberries and cheesecake layer, breaking up any large clumps with your fingers.
- Slowly drizzle the melted unsalted butter over the entire surface of the dry cake mix, trying to moisten as much of the mix as possible.
- Bake the dump cake for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the strawberry filling is bubbling around the edges.
- Remove the baking dish from the oven and let the dessert cool for at least 15–20 minutes to set slightly.
- Just before serving, top with sliced fresh strawberries and whipped cream, if desired.
- Scoop into bowls or onto dessert plates and enjoy warm.
Notes
- This dessert is best served warm.
