Description

A simple and delicious strawberry dump cake that’s easy to make and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans (21 ounces each) strawberry pie filling
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 box (15 ounces) yellow cake mix
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup sliced fresh strawberries, for topping (optional)
  • Whipped cream, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Spread the strawberry pie filling evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish, making sure it reaches into the corners.
  3. In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with the granulated sugar and vanilla extract until smooth, creamy, and lump-free.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the cheesecake mixture evenly over the strawberry pie filling, leaving a few gaps so the strawberries can bubble up as it bakes.
  5. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the top of the strawberries and cheesecake layer, breaking up any large clumps with your fingers.
  6. Slowly drizzle the melted unsalted butter over the entire surface of the dry cake mix, trying to moisten as much of the mix as possible.
  7. Bake the dump cake for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the strawberry filling is bubbling around the edges.
  8. Remove the baking dish from the oven and let the dessert cool for at least 15–20 minutes to set slightly.
  9. Just before serving, top with sliced fresh strawberries and whipped cream, if desired.
  10. Scoop into bowls or onto dessert plates and enjoy warm.
