Description
Creating Creamy Tomato Garlic Pasta is straightforward when you follow these easy steps.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz spaghetti or your choice of pasta
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Fresh basil, for garnish
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
- Sauté Garlic: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes, stirring to combine. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream. Mix until the sauce is well combined and creamy.
- Add red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper to taste. Stir well to ensure all flavors blend together.
- Add the drained pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat the pasta in the creamy sauce. If the sauce is too thick, gradually add reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency.
- Remove from heat and garnish with fresh basil. Serve immediately with grated Parmesan cheese.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes according to your spice preference.
- This dish is perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.
