Description
Delicious churro tacos filled with fresh fruits and drizzled with caramel sauce or honey.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups water
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1 cup assorted fresh fruits (strawberries, bananas, kiwi, etc.)
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce or honey
- A sprinkling of powdered sugar for garnish
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine water, sugar, and cinnamon; bring to a boil. Slowly stir in flour and baking powder until a dough forms. Let it cool for a few minutes.
- Transfer the dough into a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe long strips onto parchment paper.
- In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until hot (about 350°F or 175°C).
- Carefully fry the churro strips until golden brown on all sides. This should take about 2-3 minutes. Remove and let them drain on paper towels.
- While still warm, toss the churros in a mix of sugar and cinnamon.
- Once the churros are ready and slightly cooled, gently bend them into a taco shape and fill with your choice of diced fruits. Drizzle with caramel sauce or honey.
- Finish off by sprinkling powdered sugar on top and serve immediately for the best experience!
Notes
- Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying to achieve a crispy texture.
- Feel free to experiment with different fruits based on your preference.
